English: Knee deep in the Big Muddy. The navigation beacon at the end of an outfall pipe is all of this square above the sea. The OS suggest that a fragment of beach exists at low tide at NT290760. I visited the corner nearest land at low water on a spring tide, lowest tide of the month and was still knee deep in the murky Firth of Forth. A wade of faith. It may dry in an exceptional tide. The ground is firm muddy sand (not that I could see it).
It was a foggy morning but I could still see the beacon and the shore. More importantly fog implies calm and you don't want waves for this game. Taken from just inside the square at NT290760. |
