Description
Polski: Parafia rzymsko-katolicka p.w. Św. Mateusza Apostoła przy ulicy Powstańców Śląskich 34. Parafia pw. św. Mateusza Ap. w Czeladzi została ustanowiona 25 maja 1985 r. przez biskupa częstochowskiego Stanisława Nowaka. Pierwszym proboszczem został ks. Jan Kantor.

Z inicjatywy biskupa częstochowskiego Stefana Bareły 27 września 1983 r. dla potrzeb duszpasterskich wiernych osiedla „Musiała" w Czeladzi został powołany wikariat terenowy parafii pw. św. Stanisława BM. Kult sprawowano początkowo w niewielkiej kaplicy przy ul. Powstańców Śląskich.

Staraniem ks. Jana Kantora i wiernych przystąpiono do budowy kaplicy i pomieszczeń kościelnych. Nowe budowle, w tym kaplicę, salę katechetyczną i mieszkania dla duszpasterzy, pobłogosławił 21 września 1986 r. biskup pomocniczy diecezji częstochowskiej. Przebudowy kaplicy na okazalszy kościół dokonał ks. Jan Gaik. Jego uroczystego poświęcenia (konsekracji) 21 września 1995 r. dokonał biskup pomocniczy diecezji sosnowieckiej Piotr Skucha.
