Überlagerung zweier Sinusschwingungen 1200 Hz und 1300 Hz gleicher Amplitude

Zwei Töne werden überlagert (summiert):

Sinusschwingung 1200 Hz (Periodendauer 0,83 ms)
Sinusschwingung 1300 Hz (Periodendauer 0,76 ms)
Das Ergebnis ist eine Schwebung (Hüllkurvenschwingung) mit einer Periodendauer von 10 ms, was einer Differenzfrequenz von 100 Hz entspricht.
Die Tonhöhe dieser 100-Hz-Schwingung wird in diesem Fall auch vom Gehör wahrgenommen (Differenzton).

Superposition of two sine waves of 1200 Hz and 1300 Hz of equal amplitude

Two tones are superimposed (summed):

1200 Hz sine wave (period 0.83 ms)
1300 Hz sine wave (period 0.76 ms)
The result is a beat (envelope oscillation) with a 10 ms period, which corresponds to a difference frequency of 100 Hz.
The pitch of 100 Hz oscillation in this case can be perceived by the ear (differential tone).
