On the left is a contemporary corset made of heavy fabric and stiffening of whalebone. On the right to see a corset which were offered as health care, reform or maternity corset. These were determined only at the waist, otherwise they were flexible and offered a certain freedom of movement. Auf der linken Seite ist ein zeitgenössisches Korsett aus kräftigem Stoff und mit Versteifung aus Fischbein. Rechts ist ein Korsett zu sehen welches als Gesundheits-, Reform- oder Schwangerschaftskorsett angeboten wurden. Diese waren nur in der Taille fest, ansonsten waren sie dehnbar und boten eine gewisse Bewegungsfreiheit. Die Versteifung war meist aus plattgedrückten Stahl- oder Messingfedern.
