Krak des Chevaliers

Summary edit

Description
English: A view along the east inner wall with a warren of buildings in its front, to its left the lower courtyard. . The donjon or keep and the southeastern towers are the strongest in the defensive towers. The latter is a bit larger than the keep, it was connected to the donjon by a now disappeared wide fortified structure, from which war engines could fire their load. Below the southeastern inner tower a bastion defended the ramp that ends there against enemy fire. From the southeastern tower one has good views along the eastern inner façade and the courtyard more to the west. Or one can see the reservoir below and the southern outer wall.
