Description
English: Kuda lumping is a well-known dance in Java especially in rural areas. This dance is depicting a group of horsemen who are riding "horses' made of woven bamboos and painted in bright colors. During the dance several traditional gamelan were played to make it more live, and sometimes the dancers enter a trance. It is said that this dance is inspired by the rebel of Prince Diponegoro against Dutch governement during occupation era. This time the dance was played next to the Plaosan Temple, known as the twin temple.
