Summary edit

Description
English: Kune Kune pig - detail. This pig is one of four that are grazing in this pasture. The breed is called Kune Kune. Kune Kune pigs originate from New Zealand and their name means 'fat and round' in Maori. They are small animals, covered in a thick coat of hair which can be cream, ginger, brown, black or spotted. Their probably most unique feature is the pair of tassels or wattles (seen here in detail), called piri piri, that grow under their chin. Kune Kunes arrived in Britain in 1992 and they are described as placid and friendly, and to be thriving on human company. http://www.britishkunekunepigsociety.co.uk/history.htm
