Kuskveita er en trang veit som går fra Fjordgaten og opp i Taraldsgårdsveita. Enkelte har påstått at det har vært et artillerilosji her nede som har vært opphavet til veitenavnet. Dette er mindre trolig, da det synes mere naturlig at det har vært en skjenkestue som har holdt til i veita, og gården ligger høyere enn gatenivået, lik kuskesetet, men også denne påstanden er gjetting.
