Français : L'Infante Marguerite-Thérèse d'Autriche par Diego Velasquez (c 1653-54). Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienne Inv.-Nr 321 English: Infanta Margarita Teresa in a pink Gown by Diego Velasquez (around 1653-54). Margarita Teresa (1651-1673) was the first child of the marriage between King Philip IV and his second wife Mariana of Austria. Early on she was chosen to be the bride of Leopold I (brother of his mother). For this reason the Spanish court sent her portraits to Vienna at intervals of two to three years. The first one shows the princess aged three. |
