English: Löllingite (Size ~ 2,5 mm)
Locality: Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA
Original description: Xl is ~ 2.5 mm in greatest dimension. Found in the 1970s on the Buckwheat dump. MOB coll. This is from an analyzed find. Due to prolonged exposure on the dump, the calcite matrix is badly stained by manganese oxides. But the calcite still fluoresces bright red - a good indication that it comes from the ore body. Updated with an old film photo Nov 2011. It doesn't capture the silvery luster but it does show a very typical habit from this find.
