Altstadt - Mengstraße House built in 1758 and renovated between 1822 and 1824 by the renowned Danish architect Joseph Christian Lillie. Opened on March 5, 1922 by Thomas Mann, the Buddenbrook bookstore was accommodated here until 1929. Since 1993, the Buddenbrookhaus (Heinrich-und-Thomas-Mann-Zentrum) has been a memorial to the Kulturstiftung Hansestadt Lübeck. It houses Buddenbrookhaus, the German Thomas Mann Society, the Heinrich Mann Society, the Golo Mann Society and the Erich Mühsam Society. |
