| Description |
Lancashire United Volvo B10BLE ,1080 is seen passing Whitehall park, on Bolton Road, Darwen, on the 225 service to Bolton. In 1924, this was the northern terminus for the first bus service from Darwen to Bolton, Belford Bus Services running from the Darwen tram terminus here, to the Bolton terminus at Dunscar, by 12th September, 1925 this was extended at both ends running from Darwen Market, to Victoria square Bolton, and by September 1927 the service was running from Blackburn town Centre to Bolton town centre. On 1st January 1928 the route was purchased by Ribble, and eventually formed the basis for the present day 225. |
