Description LC-USZ62-59516: Artwork of the loss of HMS Aboukir AND HMS Hogue, Royal Navy, both Cressy-class armored cruiser which were sunk by German submarine U-9 on September 22, 1914. Of note, HMS Cressy was also sunk by U-9 on this date. The U-boat’s captain, Otto Weddigen, is pictured in the upper left. (7/17/2015).
