Description
English: This is a large eagle, its feathering is dominated by bright & Dark brown, Eyes are brown, the beak is hooked, dark grey at the bottom & yellow at the base, the tail is short & wedged shaped, legs are strong & covered with fluffy brown feathers, bottom of the wings show a single bright or even white stripe.

Facts 1. The Steppe Eagle appears on the flag of Kazakhstan. It is also the National bird of Egypt & appears on its flag. 2. It lays 1-3 eggs in a stick nest in a tree. 3. The call of the steppe eagle sounds like a crow barking, but it is rather a silent bird. 4. It seeks prey while flying, when a victim is spotted, it dives towards it & kills it on the ground with its powerful talons. 5. One of the world's fastest birds. It may fly as fast as 60 km/h in a horizontal flight, reaching even 300 km/h in a diving flight. 6. The eastern subspecies is larger and darker than the European & Central Asian.

Specs; Scientific name: Aquila nipalensis; From Latin aquila “eagle”, nipalensis "deep Hoot". Family: Accipitridae. Species: N/A. Lifespan: Approx 30-40 years. Length: Almost 2-3 ft. Weight: upto 2-5 kg approx . Wingspan: 5-7 ft aprox. Speed: 60 kmph Horizontal flight, upto 300 kmph diving flight. Habitat: from Romania to south Russia, Central Asia, Mongolia, Europe, Africa, India, Pakistan & Nepal. Diet: fresh carrion of all kinds, rodent, small mammals up to the size of a hare, birds up to the size of partridges, reptiles. Also steal food from other raptors.

Status: Endangered as per IUCN Red List.
