Français : Il s'agissait d'un point de contrôle et camp de rassemblement des pèlerins à l’époque des Omeyyades (Les Omeyyades sont une dynastie arabe de califes qui gouvernent le monde musulman de 661 à 750 J.C. Ils sont originaires de la tribu de Quraych, qui domine La Mecque au temps du prophète Mohammad) Appelée aussi Le château Saint-Gilles, et aussi la Forteresse du Mont-Pèlerin, située à Tripoli, au Liban, construite en 1103 par le comte Bertrand de Saint Gilles sur la colline de Pèlerins, à trois kilomètres de la côte méditerranéenne.
العربية: قلعة طرابلس بناها الصّليبّين في أوائل القرن الثاني عشر على أنقاض تل طبيعي كان يعرف باسم تل الحجاج وذلك خلال حصار المدينة الواقعة آنذاك على الساحل على بعد ثلاث كيلومترات من موقعها الحالي.، اتخذها الصليبيين سكنا لهم ومركزًا لشن حملاتهم العسكرية عن طريق ممر / سرداب يصل القلعة بالساحل الطرابلسي. تُوفّي فيها الكونت الفرنسي ريمون دو سان جيل عام 1105م على إثر معركة نشبت بينه وبين حاكم المدينة آنذاك جلال الملك بن عمار، مندوب الدولة الفاطمية في حكم البلاد بالنيابة. أحرق المماليك هذه القلعة عام 1289م كي لا يتمكن الصليبيون من اعادة السيطرة على المدينة، ثم أعيد بناؤها بين 1307 و1308 على عهد الأمير أسندمير كورجي، حاكم المدينة آنذاك، ورُمِّمَت عام 1521م في عهد السّلطان سليمان القانوني. وفي أواخر الحكم العثماني حَوَّلها الأتراك إلى سجنٍ. عاشت القلعة اياما عصيبة حيث تناوبت على السيطرة عليها عصابات واحزاب خلال الحرب الطائفية اللبنانية ، قبل أن تعود ملكيتها مجددا الى الدولة اللبنانية.
