Description

THE FRENCH MUNICIPAL VISITORS THE municipal deputation from Lyons, who are the guests of the Glasgow Corporation, spent the week-end at the Trossachs Hotel. The party were conveyed from Stronachlachar to Inversnaid where they joined the Loch Lomond steamer for Balloch. From there they were convoyed by special train to Dalmuir, and made an inspection of the Glasgow Corporation Sewage Works. Next they visited the Clydebank Shipbuilding Yard, and had an opportunity of inspecting the now Cunarder Lusitania on the stocks. A visit to the Singer Manufactory concluded their engagements in the district, and the party afterwards took train for Glasgow. During their stay in the city they will make the Windsor Hotel their headquarters. The Lyons Municipal deputation, headed by the Mayor M. The party will be met at the Waverley Station at 11.15 by the Lord Provost and Magistrates, and will thereafter visit the Castle, St. Giles, and the Parliament House. They will lunch in the Balmoral Hotel. In the afternoon Lady Colebrooke has invited the French party to tea. at Holyrood, when they will have an opportunity of seeing the Palace, and there will be a drive either before or after round the King's Park.
