Description
Español: Escultura La dama de la higuera de Martie van der Loo, en el Jardín Botánico de la Universidad de Málaga, Málaga, España. La escultura ha estado expuesta en el Jardín Botánico desde septiembre de 2019. El cuerpo principal de la pieza se inspira en el tronco de una palmera, representando la paz que ansían las mujeres. Las hojas de higuera en la cabeza de la mujer aluden a las diferentes culturas mediterráneas a las que la higuera ha estado ligada. En total, la escultura tiene una altura de 210 cm, a los que hay que sumar 60 cm de la base del vaso de la fuente donde se integra. El cuerpo principal está compuesto por 16 lascas de mármol verde de Macael, formando una columna circular de 40 cm de diámetro. Sobre la columna se asienta una cabeza de mujer, también en mármol verde de Macael, de 30 x 40 x 50 cm y coronada por tres capas circulares de cobre de un diámetro aproximado de 90 cm, recortadas en el exterior siguiendo el patrón de las hojas de la higuera. La escultura se integra en la fuente a través de un tubo de acero inoxidable insertado en la columna de su cuerpo principal para dar paso al agua que culmina en la parte superior de la cabeza, dejando que el agua se desborde por las planchas de cobre.
