Français : Photo montrant la niche vide où autrefois se trouvait la tête de Crom Dubh, à Cloghane (An Clochán en gaélique) (1), Castlegregory, Co. Kerry, Irlande, La niche est située à 1,75m du niveau du sol, dans le mur intérieur du côté sud des ruines de l’ancienne église du village.(2)
La présence de la tête est attestée par une photo prise par Caoimhin Ó Danachair en 1947, qui est preservée par Dúchas, la National Folklore Collection en Irlande.(3). La tête a disparu en août 1993 (possiblement volée) et n’a jamais été retrouvée.(4) Nessa O’Connor du National Museum of Ireland a expliqué dans ce même article du journal régional que “La tête mésure 30cm X 20cm et dâte de l’Âge de Fer, à l’époque de Christ.” Selon Barrington la tête a le visage typiquement apoplectique d'un dieu celte.(5) Il y a quelques années, les gens de la région ont organisé la création d’une nouvelle sculpture pour remplacer la tête disparue et ont aussi organisé une compétition pour trouver un emplacement plus accessible au public pour la nouvelle version de la tête que dans les ruines de la vieille église qui est difficile à acceder.
