Yucatán es una entidad cuya historia ha rendido a México óptimos frutos en las letras y en las artes. Su población es un ejemplo esclarecido de logros impensables en una región tan apartada del centro de la República en sus años de esplendor. Aquí floreció el periodismo con una riqueza de miras que pronto la situó en destacadísimo lugar entre los más altos exponentes del ejercicio de los gladiadores que bregaban en el estadio de la prensa nacional. Dos de sus publicaciones de mayor alcurnia fueron La Revista de Mérida y La Revista de Yucatán, ambas abatidas en aciagas épocas por la canalla hecha gobierno. La Revista Peninsular, es epígono único de esas irrepetibles antecesoras suyas, a las que capitaneaba en su martirio el periodista por antonomasia: Carlos Ricardo Menéndez González, ilustre abuelo de nuestro difunto director fundador, Eduardo Menéndez Rodriguez y bisabuelo de Rodrigo Menéndez Cámara quien dirige hoy este semanario. La Revista Peninsular refrenda su compromiso serio y vigente de ejercer el periodismo a carta cabal, sin cortapisas y congruente con nuestros orígenes. Mantenemos la pluma y la conciencia en alto, a la vanguardia respaldando nuestro ideales. La Revista Peninsular se funda en 1988, unica en su genero en la Peninsula de Yucatán con casi 1,000 ediciones y 20 años en el ejerciocio de la prensa libre. Alerta, vigilante, sin más compromiso que el de la verdad y el bien común, La Revista Peninsular, como sus antecesoras, sigue firme en la lucha por la Justicia y por la Patria. |
