Description
English: This photo was taken at the La Silla observatory (Chile) on 2nd of July, 2019, when tourist from all over the world come to observe the Solar Eclipse to Latin America. Total eclipses visible from the astronomical observatory happen extremely rarely. And it was a first time in a history when the observatory has organized such a large public event where tourists, social media and public figures (like S. Piñera - president of the country) had access. On a background two largest telescopes of the observatory 3.6-meters telescope and New Technology Telescope (NTT) are seeing. The astronomical instrument HARPS installed at 3.6-meters telescope is one of the best instrument to hunt for the exoplanets from the Earth.
