FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION COUNCIL OF WAR AGAINST ELS JOGLARS' LA TORNA
On 2 March 1974, Salvador Puig Antich, a member of the Iberian Liberation Movement (MIL), and the Polish citizen Heinz Chez were executed by the Franco regime. In an attempt to mislead public opinion, the regime linked the political activist to petty crime. The execution sparked a show called La Torna, by the Els Joglars group, which resulted in a court martial that ended up with several of the group's actors in prison. The trial unleashed a huge campaign in favour of freedom of expression that transcended borders. The slogan was drawn by the talented Fabià Puigserver.
