Panorama du sommet de la colline d'Hemakuta à Hampi (Vijayanagar) C'est le "Sunset Point" de la colline de Hemakuta.


La colline de Hemakuta faisait partie de la zone sacrée de la ville ancienne de Vijayanagar, elle était elle-même fortifiée, on y trouve de nombreux temples dédiés à Shiva et pavillons construits entre les IXè et XIVè siècles. Certains rochers sont sculptés avec des scènes du Ramayana en relation avec les légendes attachées au site : Rama y aurait rencontré le roi des singes déchu appelé Sugriva et dont le général était Hanuman.
