Description
Français : Napoléon 1er (1769-1821) a érigé la colonne Vendôme pour commémorer la bataille d'Austerlitz.

Ladite colonne a été conçue sur le modèle de la colonne de l'empereur Trajan dressée à Rome l'an 113, et elle est surmontée par une statue de Napoléon en César.

La colonne Vendôme est décorée de bas-reliefs qui représentent des scènes de batailles et s'enroulent jusqu'à son sommet suivant une spirale de 280 mètres.

Quant au fût de cette colonne dite "de la Victoire" : il est constitué de 98 tambours de pierre recouverts d'une chape qui a été coulée avec le bronze issu des canons pris aux armées russes et autrichiennes.
