Façade de la manufacture de tissus Fortuny et du show-room Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871-1949) était un styliste espagnol, créateur de tissus, photographe, peintre. Il fut notamment l'inventeur du célèbre plissé Fortuny, qui a transformé le vêtement féminin à la Belle Epoque. Etabli à Venise en 1889, il a installé sa manufacture à la Giudecca en 1919, la production de tissus et d'objets conçus par Fortuny se poursuit.
