Description

Jean Pierre Frédéric Ancillon (1767-1837) descendait d'une famille de hughenots français exilés à Berlin. Il a été précepteur du Prince héritier, futur Roi de Prusse Frédéric Guillaume IV en 1810.

Très influent à la cour, J.P.F. Ancillon a été nommé ministre des affaires étrangères en 1814.

Sa tombe, située dans le cimetière de la congrégation française de Berlin, est l'une des dernières oeuvres de Karl Friedrich Schinkel lui-même enterré dans le cimetière voisin.
