Description

En 1919 le peintre français Jacques Majorelle (1886-1962) (fils de Louis Majorelle, un des artistes art nouveau de l'Ecole de Nancy) s'installe dans la médina de Marrakech alors sous protectorat français.

En 1922 il achète une palmeraie en bordure de celle de Marrakech et en 1931, il fait construire par l'architecte Paul Sinoir sa villa style Art déco d’une étonnante modernité, inspirée de Le Corbusier et du Palais de la Bahia de Marrakech.
