A pretty rough and ready example of a piece of Soviet engineering. The design certainly looks a couple of decades older than the actual car- how dated would this car have been in 1988, when they finally stopped producing it?! This one is most likely a 1970s model, but could be early 80s, as successor Ladas replaced this in export markets around then. Supposedly sold in the West as a cheap, no-frills car, I'm surprised someone has kept it going for over thirty years!
