English: Lagarobasidium Jülich
Image location: Bridalveil Falls trailhead vicinity, Yosemite National Park, California, USA On wood. The long thin, SV-, cystidia (80 X 8), elipsoid, non amyloid, non-cyanophilous, thickwalled, non-ornamented spores 5.5-6 X 3-4.4, four spored elongate basidia, and the presents of clamps, are the reasons for my tentative ID. The color seems a little wrong as the specimen is cream colored and the description says pale brown. I did not see incrustations on the tip of the cystidia, but apparently that is variable. Based on microscopic features: See Karen K’s comments. spore size, shape, and reaction in cottom blue fit. The lack of clavate cystidia raises doubt for the only species (L. detriticum) that I have a description of |
