Sulla riva del fiume Passirio nel comune di Merano, si trova questa zona allo stato naturale ricca di vegetazione e animali, in particolare anatre, che vivono nel laghetto tutto l'anno, il picchio verde, il picchio rosso maggiore e il picchio muratore. La pesca è privata e il passaggio in questa zona è definito "a proprio rischio".
