Summary edit

Description
English: Praça Gil Eannes is a plaza located in the city of Lagos, Algarve, Portugal. A very busy and great centre of commercial activity, it is often frequented by street performers, especially musicians. The sculpter in the centre of the plaza is by João Cutileiro and was installed in 1973. The statue perpetuates the memory King Dom Sebastian of Portugal. He disappeared (was presumably killed in action) in the battle of Alcácer Quibir.
