Description

After visiting Laguna Cejar I drove over to Laguna Piedra to enjoy the beach and swimming hole.

Unfortunately, I have no photos of the swimming hole but one of the ponds in the park is set aside for human use to preserve the remaining ponds. They created a sand beach around the pond and added a few palapa shade structures.

The pond is only about eight inches deep for the first ten meters and has a yellow rock bottom. After the shallow part, you reach the central deep pool with dark aquamarine water that is quite salty. Your body is very boyant in the salty water but not to the same extent as in the Dead Sea.

I would highly recommend visiting Laguna Piedra to experience this gem yourself.
