Description
The barque was launched in the mid 19th Century and originally named ‚Ophia‘, the name was changed to ‚Trade Winds‘ when Captain Pierre Blampied Le Patourel (1878-1953) became Master in the late 19th Century. The barque held the coveted Blue Ribbon for the tea trip back from Calcutta to London

Notes The Captain Pierre Blampied Le Patourel was a tenth child of Peter Grenager Lepatouer and Betsy Adelaide Blampied - Shipwrights of St. Martins, Guernsey, Channel Islands and it is thought that he commisioned the picture from Lai Fong in Calcutta
