The barque was launched in the mid 19th Century and originally named ‚Ophia‘, the name was changed to ‚Trade Winds‘ when Captain Pierre Blampied Le Patourel (1878-1953) became Master in the late 19th Century. The barque held the coveted Blue Ribbon for the tea trip back from Calcutta to London |
