English: Lancaster Green Ayre level crossing 1976 A class 25 locomotive crosses the A6's northbound carriageway en route to the site of Lancaster Green Ayre station, ready to load redundant materials from that site. Originally, the road bridge across the River Lune (behind the photographer) was a railway line, linking Lancaster Green Ayre and Morecambe. Once the materials had been recovered, the level crossing was removed. |
