| Description |
English: Land restoration trials, New Forest Looking north from the Wilverley Plain to Holm Hill path, with Markway Inclosure in the far distance. The sign on the post in the foreground says 'Land restoration trials Keep Off'. What they are being restored from is unknown to me. It is possible that the area was covered with conifers and this is a trial in returning the land to heath. The inclosures in the distance, such as Markway Inclosure, are to be returned to heath once their lease expires. |
