Deutsch: Die Erftalhalle ist ein ortsprägendes und markantes Gebäude und wurde unter der Regierungszeit des Würzburger Fürstbischofs Konrad Wilhelm von Wertnau im Jahr 1683 fertiggestellt. Der im Stil der Spätrenaissance erbaute »Schüttungsbau« diente ursprünglich als Zehntspeicher, um die abgelieferten Getreidevorräte trocken zu lagern und so »aufzuschütten«, dass sie vor Verderb geschützt waren. Es wurde nicht nur als reiner Zweckbau erreichtet, vielmehr war es ein Symbol für die seit 1656 unangefochtene Herrschaft der Würzburger Fürstbischöfe in Hardheim. Dies zeigt sich an der außerordentlichen Größe von 67,5 m x 13,5 m.
Im Jahr 1955 wurden die beiden unteren Geschosse des Gebäudes zur Festhalle umgebaut. Hierzu wurden die mächtigen Stützpfeiler entfernt und die Last mittels einer Stahlkonstruktion im Gebälk auf die Außenmauern übertragen. Bei einer Gesamtsanierung in den Jahren 1978/80 wurde ein neuer großzügiger Eingangsbereich und Treppenaufgang angebaut. |
