Summary
editDescriptionLangford Pumping Station - geograph.org.uk - 402525.jpg |
English: Langford Pumping Station Essex Water Company pumping station with a preserved inverted vertical triple expansion pumping engine. This is now the Museum of Power.
If I remember correctly, the day I was here was the same day that Thames Water had the official shut down ceremony for Waddon Well Pumping Station - the last UK waterworks with reciprocating steam engines. Hampton's steam turbines went on a little longer but were not as glamorous. |
