Description
English: Large neck amphora in Melian (Cycladic) style, of Cycladic workshop. 7th century BC. Found in the ancient cemetery, used for the burial of children. Of the neck of the vase a hunter is depicted with his bow and his quiver. On the body is a scene from every-day life, a farmer cultivating his land with a plough pulled by two oxen. Archaeological Museum of Paros B 2653.
Čeština: Velká amfora v mélském (kykladském) stylu, z kykladské dílny, 7. století před n. l. Našla se na antickém pohřebišti, byla užita k pohřbu dítěte. Na hrdle vázy je zobrazen lovec s lukem a toulcem. Na těle vázy je scéna z každodenního života, zemědělec obhospodařující svou zemi pluhem, taženým dvěma voly. Archeologické muzeum v Paroikii, Paros, B 2653.
