Summary edit

Description Thin, dry air does not protect what grows here from the sun, nor keep the heat from escaping at night. The wild fluctuation in temperatures called "Summer every day and winter every night" causes desert-like conditions. Moss balls are the Afro-Alpine version of tumbleweeds. Rodents and ravens are the most common animals. Leopards are the only large carnivores to regularly visit these heights [aktrec.com]
