Description The roof-box RT was just one of many preserved buses joining in the fun on October 29th 2005, the last day of Routemaster operation of the 38 Victoria - Clapton Pond route. I just liked the juxtaposition here at the Hyde Park corner end of Piccadilly. between two vehicles nearly 60 years separating them. An even older outside staircase London General ST type, ST922 (see comment below from routemaster2217) was also running on the 38. About 6 weeks later, the final routemaster route, the 159 succumbed to modernisation though in a more satisfactory and better revenue yielding form of double deckers rather than the articulated Mercedes Benz Citaro "free buses"
