Français : Lavoir de Rives (74 200 Thonon) éclairé par le soleil bas de l'après-midi du 06 mars 2014. Noter les plaques de pierre polies par l'usage autour de la vasque, et, au-dessus de la flaque de lumière réfléchie sur le mur du fond, la date : 1887. L'endroit est désert et silencieux, alors qu'autrefois il résonnait des coups de battoir et des voix des lavandières, réputées pour leur franc-parler
English: Wash-house in Rives (74 200 Thonon, France) lit in by the March afternoon slanting sun. Polished stone slabs line around the central pool, which reflects its light against the wall (note the date 1887 on a plaque), and the hall is cool and quiet, while it was a century ago ringing with bat thuds, washing songs and the loud chatter of gossips
