Description
Français : Construit durant les années 1895 à 1897, le Château d’Ilbarritz a été pensé par l’architecte Gustave Huguenin dans la plus grande confidentialité.

La magnifique demeure fut construite avec les meilleurs matériaux que l’on pouvait trouver à l’époque (marbres, bois nobles …). Situé sur la colline de Handia, le Château d’Ilbarritz offre un panorama exceptionnel sur la Côte Basque. Jusqu’en 1903, le château abritait le Grand Orgue (actuellement visible à la basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre). La construction du Château coûtera en tout 5 millions de francs !

Aujourd'hui, le château d'Ilbarritz est toujours aussi imposant et surplombe la plage et un terrain de golf du même nom. Deux restaurants (Le Blue Cargo et La Plancha) se trouvent juste en contrebas du château.
