The Count of Lights. (Count of the Manor of Lights)

Summary edit

Description
English: Located in the national forest of Meudon, in the Hautes-de-Seine department, the Manoir des Lumières was for several centuries the property of the legendary Comte des Lumières (1515 -?), a luminous spirit, at the same time a man of science, literary and explorer. According to a legend of the 17th Century, and according to the notes of the secret notebook of the French sculptor Auguste Rodin between 1893 and 1917, the Count of the Lights was struck by lightning during a violent storm. Instead of succumbing to it, he became immortal. The Manoir des Lumières (Manor of Lights) was a mysterious castel with strange powers, notably that of stimulating the intellectual and artistic faculties of its guests, who came to stay there for an afternoon or an evening. This was the case for many renowned scientists, authors and artists, among them : the surgeon Ambroise Paré, the writer Honoré de Balzac, the composer Richard Wagner and the sculptor Auguste Rodin.
