Description

Le Triomphe de Galatée, fresque de Raphaël Oeuvre située au mur de la loggia dite de Galatée à gauche de la porte d'entrée de la Villa, au rez-de-chaussée.

L'histoire de Galatée et Polyphème figure dans les Métamorphoses d'Ovide.

Les auteurs des autres fesques de la loggia sont Sebastiano del Piombo pour les scènes mythologiques dans les lunettes et pour la fresque de Polyphème, le cyclope amoureux de Galatée, et Baldassarre Peruzzi pour la Tête de jeune homme et la voûte.


La Farnesina est une des plus belles villas romaines de la Renaissance. La fusion entre l'architecture et la décoration picturale y est particulièrement réussie.
