English: Oseberg's boat in the Viking Boat Museum in Oslo (Vikingskipshuset).
This boat, unearthed in 1904, was built between 815 and 820 and was used as a funeral boat for a high-ranking woman who died in 834. The body was in a wooden funeral chamber placed on the bridge. Around the body have been discovered many objects in wood, leather and textiles. The boat, 22 m long, is made of oak wood. It had 30 rowers and was not a boat built for the high seas. The museum presents three Viking boats, very well preserved, as well as objects, which have been discovered in three funerary mounds near Oslo Fjord.Français : Le bateau d'Oseberg dans le musée des Bateaux vikings à Oslo (Vikingskipshuset).
