Max Kurtz, Allemand, né en 1873 à Stuttgart et décédé en novembre 1929 à Heldelberg à 56 ans, de 1m73 pour 83 kilos, champion de France du lancer du poids en 1898, puis champion de France de rugby à XV en 1905 avec le S.B.U.C., comme capitaine, poste de demi (et également vice-champion de France en 1901, comme arrière latéral cette fois).
