Immeuble du joaillier Mikimoto, (2005) conçu par l'architecte Toyo Ito (détail) Ginza, Tokyo, Japon <a href="https://www.mikimoto.com/jp/stores/direct/ginza2.htm" rel="nofollow">www.mikimoto.com/jp/stores/direct/ginza2.htm</a>

L'architecte Ito s'est inspiré du mystère d'une boîte à bijoux et a imaginé des bulles autour de perles et de pétales flottants. Le bâtiment dispose également d'un salon et d'un atrium, qui sert à la fois de hall d'exposition. Peints dans un rose mica délicatement mousseux rose pâle, les quatre murs sont une merveille d'ingénierie. Chacun comprend deux tôles d'acier de 56 m de hauteur; fabriqués en sections, soudés ensemble sur site, et installés à peine à 20 cm l'un de l'autre. Avec le béton coulé entre, l'acier est assez fort pour soutenir les 9 étages. Extrait de la notice MIMOA
