Description
Français : La façade arrière du moulin à marée.

Le moulin à marée situé au port de Loix-en-Ré est plus généralement un moulin à eau. La force du courant de l' eau de mer lors des marées sert de force motrice dans les deux sens (marée montante et marée basse). Ce moulin a eu plusieurs fonctions: moudre la farine, laver du sel. Il sert encore aujourd' hui, grâce au courant qui peut être créé à marée basse avec la réserve d'eau dans les terres, au nettoyage du chenal d' accès au port. C' est le principe de la chasse d' eau. Le moulin à marée est propriété privée.
