Description

Dans la grande cour du palais, des affiches annoncent la grande fête du printemps appelée Navrouz qui est célébrée le 21 mars en Asie centrale et dans les pays voisins.

Navrouz signifie "nouveau jour" en Farsi (persan).

Kounia Ark est la vieille forteresse de Khiva. Ce site a été habité dès le 5ème siècle.

Plusieurs palais furent successivement détruits et reconstruits à cet endroit. Le palais actuel a été édifié au début du 19ème siècle.

Au fond, Kalta Minor, le minaret court, situé à coté de la médersa (madrasa) Mohammed Amin Khan dont on voit le haut du portail central.
