Description

L'espace intérieur du temple Hazara Rama avec les bas-reliefs sur le Ramayana

Le temple aux 1000 Rama(s) était la chapelle privée du souverain de Vijayanagar. Il est situé au coeur du palais royal.

L'enceinte extérieure du temple est recouverte de bas-reliefs avec de nombreuses représentations de danseuses et musiciens mais également de guerriers et d'animaux mythiques.

Le sanctuaire principal est dédié à Vishnou (Rama est le 7ème avatar de Vishnou). Sur les murs extérieurs du sanctuaire, une série de bas-reliefs représentent des épisodes du Ramayana.
