Description
Français : Le voilier « ATKA » amarré dans le Bassin des Chalutier après son retour d’un hivernage de 6 mois au Groenland où il a servi à diverses activités. Ce bateau, un Périple 50, construit pour naviguer dans les mers extrêmes (mers des pôles, par exemple) a été lancé en 2001 sous le nom de « The Glory of the Sea ». Il mesure 15,50 mètres de long et 5 mètres de large. Il a une double coque en aluminium et il est doté de dérives, de safrans et d’une hélice relevables afin de pouvoir se poser ou de s’amarrer sans dégâts sur la glace. Immatriculation : LR 933022E.

« ATKA » signifie en Inuit « Brise-Glace » et « Gardien des Esprits ».
